Mr. James T. “Jimmy” English, 60, of Climax, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2025 at the Randolph Hospice House.
Funeral will be 11:00 am August 1, 2025 at Grays Chapel Methodist Church with burial to follow at Gilmore Memorial Park in Julian.
Jimmy had a passion for the outdoors and maintaining an active lifestyle. In his youth, he participated in local rodeos, and riding bulls. At one point, he owned and operated a local fitness center. He also hauled livestock long distances under his own name, “English Cattle Co”. He most recently was a dedicated employee at EAS, where he was a mentor and a talented welder and fitter. One of Jimmy's cherished pastimes was coon hunting. He greatly enjoyed hearing the coon dog’s tree in the swamps on spring mornings and in the woods on cool winter nights. Jimmy was a man of strong faith. He attended World Harvest Bible College in Columbus, Ohio, and was a member of Grays Chapel Methodist Church.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his father, James Thomas English, Sr. and sister, Kim English.
He is survived by his wife, Patty English of the home; children, Stephanie Haley, Kimberly Haley, Zachary Lohr, and Eli Lohr; mother and stepfather, Audrey and Ronnie Coltrane; sisters, Jessica, Donna, and Tonya; and grandchildren, Austin, Julian, Brianna, and Brick.
The family will receive friends from 10-10:45 am at the church prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Randolph, 416 Vision Drive, Asheboro, NC 27203.
