James Landon Jones

James “Jimmy” Landon Jones, 84, of Greensboro passed away Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Moses H Cone Memorial Hospital.                                                        

In keeping with Jimmy’s wishes, a private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Jimmy retired from Gilbarco Veeder-Root Company after many years. He was a long-time member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where he also served as a deacon. Jimmy loved to fish, especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jimmy was also an avid fan of NASCAR.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Elizabeth Whitley Jones; daughters, Jennifer Wilkes Baldwin (Randy) and Michelle Lynn Wright (David, Jr.); sisters, Helen Bean and Hilma Mills; grandchildren, Tracy Fritts (Michael), Cheryl Holt (Drew), and Chandler Wright; and great grandchildren, Justin Wilkes, Elizabeth Fritts, Mikey Fritts, Scarlett Fritts, James Fritts, Madilynn Holt, and Kinsley Holt.
