James Michael Reed, affectionately referred to as “Bubba” departed from this earthly life on June 7th 2024.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mahala Reed, his parents Joe & Lucille Reed, his eldest sister Barbara Watkins and grandson Kohen Long.
Bubba is survived by his only child and best friend Michael Joe Reed (Christal), his loving sister Carolyn Reed Overby, two nieces, six nephews and his “brother from another mother” Dan Blackman (Debbie).
As a career pipefitter, Bubba was well known and respected within the trade. He enjoyed sharing his vast knowledge with others and was always proud to teach the next generation. Bubba taught his son Joe the trade and together they would ultimately live their dream of owning their own business, appropriately named Reedco. For many years, father and son would work side by side with pride. Bubba also taught his nephews Jr. and Aaron the trade.
Both men worked for Reedco for many years and are still working in the industry today.
This is what leaving a legacy looks like.
Personally, Bubba was a man who lived life on his own terms and to the fullest.
He was loud and friendly, never met a stranger and couldn’t go anywhere without running into someone he knew. He was quick to laugh at you or with you and would give you a big “I heard that” if something you said amused him.
He enjoyed traveling with family and friends and had many adventures over the years.
Notably, he and Dan managed to check off a huge bucket list item and explore all of the lower 48 states, on their Harley’s, with Dan leading the way and Bubba being his ever present wingman.
Per his request the family will stick with Bubba’s “simple man’ ways.
There will be no formal service.
