James Rodney Jones

James "Jay" Rodney Jones, age 66, of Greensboro, passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at Cone Health Wesley Long Hospital.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 14, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. at George Brothers Funeral Service. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m., with interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Greensboro.

Born in Guilford County, Mr. Jones was educated within the Greensboro Public School system. He was passionate about motorcycles and was a founding member of the Golden Suns Motorcycle Club. Additionally, he owned and operated One Stop Automotive in Greensboro.

Mr. Jones was predeceased by his wife, Cora Jones, and his mother, Anita Louise Jones-Collins.

Jay is survived by his daughter, Latasha Sanders of Greensboro; his father, Charles C. Jones, Sr. (Dorothy) of Washington, DC; siblings, Charles C. Jones Jr., Angela Jones-Chavis, Terry R. Jones, Charita L. Jones, and Steven L. Jones (Sheila); as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog, Ralph.
