Janie (Stilwell) Turman

Mrs. Janie Stilwell Turman, 87, of Greensboro passed away Monday, October 23, 2023 at Beacon Place.

Janie’s wish was to be cremated and she asked that her family and friends celebrate her life rather than mourn her passing. Please contact the family directly for service information.

Mrs. Turman was born April 6, 1936 in Pulaski VA to the late Sylvester and Virginia Stilwell. She was a homemaker and most of all a sweet and loving Mom. Janie has repeatedly said, “my life was happy and my family is happy”. That’s all that she cared about.

Janie and Billy, her late husband, enjoyed rearing their four children and enjoyed watching their grandchildren grow.

In addition to her husband and parents, Janie is preceded in death by her brothers, Woody, James, Avis, Melvin, and Ivan Stilwell and her sisters, Myrtle Mayo, Hattie Linens, Thelma Harris, and Larmie Stilwell.

Many special family and friends have been dear to her heart. Mrs. Turman is survived by her children, Randall Turman and Kathy Dobson, Jeffrey “Gee” Turman, Mark and Robin Turman, Teresa Turman Sears and John; grandchildren, Christopher and Mia Turman, Tara Turman, Todd Turman, Houston and Alysia Turman; great grandchildren, Waylon Turman, Caleb Agared and Ella Turman; and special friend, Donald Jarrells.
