Mr. Jimmie “J.C.” Clark McCuiston, 93, passed away Friday, March 20, 2026 at his home with his family by his side.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 3:30 pm at Burnetts Chapel Church with Larry McCuiston officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Mr. McCuiston was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Hallie McCuiston; and brother, C.W. McCuiston.
Jimmie was a hard working man and who loved and provided for his family all of his life. He was a tobacco farmer, a volunteer fireman with Pinecroft Sedgefield Fire Department for 43 years; and retired from Southern Bell with 32 years of service. For several years of his fire service he served as Assistant Chief 22. He was a longtime member of Burnetts Chapel Church, and loved to spend his free time enjoying sports of all kinds. He was sportsman who loved to hunt and be outdoors, and in his younger years he enjoyed playing basketball, golf, bowling, was a huge Atlanta Braves fan, and truly enjoyed square dancing. He also served his country in the U.S. Army and National Guard.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Peggie Hennis McCuiston; daughter, Sandy Franklin (Joseph); grandchildren, Bradley (Katie), Jennifer (Phillip), and Peggie (Jason); great-grandchildren, Zach, Chloe, Will, Cara, Abigail, Amelia, and Riley; brother, Bill McCuiston; sisters, Barbara Rich and Brenda Petty; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends whom he loved.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2:30-3:30 pm prior to the service.
