Joseph Benjamin Allison

Joseph (Joey) Benjamin Allison left this world to fly with the angels on November 27, 2018. He was 29 years old.

He is survived by parents, Kenneth W. Allison, Sr. & Tracy F. Allison; older brother, Kenneth W. Allison, Jr. and younger sister, Lauren E. Allison. He is also survived by grandparents, Walter & Nancy Forbes of Pleasant Garden; uncle and aunt, Tony and Marlene Forbes of Pleasant Garden; cousins, Kaitlyn & Candice Forbes, Austin, Brandon, and Mary Grace Wallace as well as many other distant aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Joey was known as being a success at anything he set his mind on – played piano by ear, played guitar as a young teen in the Praise Band at his church, a whiz with computers and technology, loved the outdoors and photography. He was such an avid Harry Potter fan that he hand carved several beautiful wands and gave them to friends. He made a huge koi pond in our backyard, digging every inch of it by hand with only a shovel and a very strong determination. The sound of the waterfall was so calming as we would sit in the gazebo, watching the koi fish – coming up with names for each one of them. The sunsets were amazing as they reflected off the ponds surface. That was our absolute favorite time of day to be there!! He was an exceptionally intelligent person – learning so many things just by observing and absorbing everything he could about the things he loved. He had an abundant knowledge of space, galaxies,, nebulae, planets and stars and exploring space was a favorite hobby for him. He also ha a scientific explanation for any question you wanted to ask him. He was intelligent way beyond his years. Young children loved being around him and everyone that ever met him spoke highly of him. He had an abundance of friends throughout his short life, a few that were friends throughout his whole life.

He is and always will be loved and cherished by his family and will live in our hearts and our memories forever!

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at George Brothers Funeral Service, 803 Greenhaven Drive, Greensboro, NC, with a visitation from 6-7:30 with a service beginning at 7:30.

The Allison family would like to thank you all for your thoughts, prayers and kind words during thus very difficult time.
