Mr. Joseph Roger Brown, Sr, 80, of Clemmons and formerly of Greensboro, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 2021.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Reedy Creek Baptist Church in Lexington, NC with Pastor Ben Farrell officiating. The burial, with military honors, will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Brown was born in Iredell County to the late James Clyde and Gladys Proctor Brown on January 21, 1941. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of Reedy Creek Baptist Church. He loved The Lord and this was evident by his love of soul winning and passing out of over three million gospel tracts. He was owner and operator of Southern Mechanical Products and Sunline USA Group Incorporated. He was also a lifetime Iron Duke member and a proud member of the NRA. Mr. Brown loved to coach, beginning in his Army days, and lasting throughout his lifetime.  He authored 32 books consisting of family history, genealogy, and historical fiction. Since the 1970s, he has loved vacationing with his family in Surf City, NC where so many precious memories were made. He will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Katherine Rebecca Brown, and his brother, Elmer Brown.

He is survived by his children, Joseph Roger Brown, Jr. (Ronda), Daniel John Brown (Chasity), Megan James (Daniel) and Morgan Jayne (David); grandchildren, Camerin Whitaker (Don), Meredith Curol, Leah Brown, Luke Brown, Kiersten Brown, Graydan James, Weston James, Lyla Jolie Jayne and soon to arrive Baby Boy Jayne; great grandchildren, Emma Curol, Hudson Curol, Dominic Whitaker and Anniston Whitaker and his siblings, Elmer’s wife, Gerry Brown, Wayne Brown (Frances), Rose Whittington (Hubert), John Brown (Cathy), Jane Bodenhamer (Randy), and Dan Brown (Barbara).
