Joyce Marie (Jones) Harris

Joyce Marie Jones Harris of Greensboro, NC went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 30, 2023.

Funeral Services will be held at Gospel Baptist Church in Greensboro, NC on Friday, August 4th at 3:00pm with Pastor Paul Luttrell officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation at the church at 1:30pm.

The burial will follow at Restwood Memorial Park in Hinton, West Virginia on Saturday, August 5th at 1:00pm. 

Joyce was born on July 23, 1934, in Rainelle, West Virginia to the late Ted and Thelma Jones. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, E. Keith Harris and son, Michael. She graduated in June 1952 from Sandstone High School in Hinton, WV, where she met her late husband, Keith. Joyce was an attending member of Gospel Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and true servant to her late husband’s Air Force career and family travels. She was a member of the FHA - Future Homemakers of America, The Glee Club, The Book Club and a Cub Scout Den Mother. She was also a member of the church choir for Trinity Baptist Church in Tainan, Taiwan. She was a devoted mother and her greatest joy was her family. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, true kindness, and most importantly, love. 

Her kind spirit touched the lives of all those who knew her. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren:  

Son Danny K. Harris (Martha); Daughter Linda M. Waters (Donnie); Son Michael W. Harris (deceased); Son Timothy W. Harris (Lynn); Son Kent A. Harris; Daughter Gina H. Burroughs (Vince).

Grandchildren: Dawn M. Spain (Kenneth); Amanda D. Harris (Nate); Joshua P. Harris (Tabitha); Hannah R. Harris; Elisabeth H. Harris; Lily A. Evers (Roman); Liberty J. DiLorenzo (Christian); Daniel L. Harris (Jacqueline); Mary G. Williams (Matt); John M. Harris (Stephanie); Timothy D. Harris; Matthew H. Harris; Kendra D. Harris; Travis K. McDonald (Kathryn); Cori L. Burroughs.

Great-Grandchildren: Kaitlyn Tetterton, Delaney Spain, Max Hammer, Elena Hammer, Cooper McDonald, John Harris, Christopher Harris, Gabriella Harris, Amelia Harris, Almerinda Harris, Abigail Harris, Michael Harris, Josiah Harris, Victoria Harris, Olivia Harris, Adalyn Harris, Jonathan Harris, Gabriel DiLorenzo.

Great-Great Grandchildren: Sadie Tetterton, Liam Tetterton.
