Joyce Marie (Garst) Newell

Joyce Marie Garst Newell, better known as “Jubee”, 74, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 pm, Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Life Community Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Joyce was born October 30, 1944 in Guilford County to the late George Emerson and Inez Davidson Garst. She was an active member of Life Community Church and loved rocking the babies in the nursery. She retired from Ciba-Geigy/Syngenta.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, George Garst.

Survivors include her sons, Troy Newell and his wife Lisa and Brian Newell and his wife Ginger; grandchildren, Max, Allison, Kailey and Ella; a sister, Sue Stamper; numerous extended family members and anyone who knew her as “Jubee”.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Life Community Church, Nursery Department, 4900 W. Wendover Ave., Jamestown, NC 27282.
