Judy (Toomes) Wood

My precious sister has left her earthly home to enter the gates of Heaven into the arms of our Lord. Geraldine “Judy” Toomes Wood, 87, passed away January 23, 2025. Memorial service will be held on Monday, January 27 at 2:00pm at Rehobeth Church with visitation to follow in the Family Life Center.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents Cecil and Agnes Welborn Toomes, husband Frank Wood, sons Timothy Wood, Terrence Wood, and her brother Charles Toomes.

She was a 1955 graduate of Sumner High School where she played basketball and softball and loved her classmates. She was a lifelong member of Rehobeth Church where she sang in the choir until her health declined.

Left to cherish her memories are her sister Jackie Jones and her very dependable brother-in-law Doug Jones, daughter-in-law Shelly Wood, granddaughter Brittany Wood, nephew Jeff Jones (Suzanne) of Phoenix, AZ and special cousins.

Many thanks to her nurses and caregivers at Clapps Nursing Center. She loved them so very much. Her smile will be greatly missed.
