Kathleen Osborne Jacobs

Kathleen Osborne Jacobs, 84, of Colfax died Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Trinity Oaks of Salisbury.

A Memorial service will be 3:00 PM Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at George Brothers Funeral Service.

Kathleen was born June 18, 1935 in Elkhorn, WV to the late Carl Rufus and Annie Mae Moore Osborne. She was a former member of Family Harvest Outreach and was retired from Guilford Mills. She volunteered and taught sewing classes to senior adults as well as making lap quilts and chemo caps for cancer patients.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Abby Phillips and a brother, Carl Lee Osborne.

Survivors include her children, Karen Jacobs Hinson (Mark), of Ridgeway, VA, Gerald Dwayne Jacobs (Joyce) of Colfax, Angela Jacobs Safrit (Danny) of Colfax, Jeffery Dale Jacobs of Piedmont, OK, and Andrea Jacobs Kern (Matt) of Piedmont, OK; 2 sisters, Lorina Young of Pulaski, VA and Libby Price of Roanoke, VA; a brother, Boyd Osborne (Cynthia) of Edinburg, VA; 7 grandchildren, Danielle Charles (James), Melissa Safrit, Joshua Jacobs, Caleb Jacobs (Yasmine), Hannah Royal (Corey), Anna-Marie Jacobs-Kern and Sara Hinson; 7 great grandchildren, Kaylee, Jordan, Lily, Shae, Isaac, and Hadleigh Charles and Lincoln Royal.

The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM Wednesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Make the Connection (to help the military suicide hotline), Susan G. Komen Foundation, Alzheimer’s Association, Down Syndrome Society or the charity of the donor’s choice.
