Kyriee Murphy

Kyriee Murphy, age 5, passed away Monday, October 21, 2024 with his loving family surrounding him.

A service to celebrate Kyriee’s life will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at 2:00pm at George Brothers Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm-2:00pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

Kyriee was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Hortense Robinson.

Born in Durham, NC on October 7, 2019 to Vernell Murphy and Orlander McConney, Kyriee became the light of his family’s life. He was a strong little boy who loved mickey mouse, seeing lights, and feeling the sunshine on his face. Those who cared for him knew all of his favorite things – ice cream, chocolate, sprite, and pumpkin spice, as well as his least favorite things – onions, fish, and playing with his feet. He had an old soul and liked listening to R&B music. He was the boss and everyone around him knew that and loved him for it. He really loved all things BATMAN! In honor of Kyriee, please wear batman themed attire to the services.

Kyriee is survived by his mother Vernell Murphy and his father Orlander McConney; siblings Cameron, Victoria, Mechel, Isabella, Hortense, Nikole, and Egypt; grandparents Leslie Murphy, Darryl Whichard, Theodore Clark, and Micheal McConney. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, family members, and friends who loved him and will miss his presence dearly.

A special thank you to all the nurses and caregivers who took care of Kyriee no matter where he was.

The family will have a meal following the funeral service at the home for those who wish to attend.
