Leroy Vernon

Leroy Vernon was transferred to his Heavenly Home on May 30, 2024.

A graveside service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Guilford Memorial Park.

 Leroy loved the Lord and spoke of his salvation often.  He was truly a wonderful Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and a real friend to all who knew him.  He retired from Prudential Insurance Company many years ago and has enjoyed his retirement life.

Leroy is preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Cole and his second wife, Carolyn Mitchell, a son, Michael, as well as a daughter, Sharon. He also precedes one sister, Winona Cardwell and one brother, Norman.

Left to cherish his memories is one son, Steve Vernon (Cyndy) as well as one sister, Jean Snyder. He also leaves behind stepchildren, whom he loved; Jack Mitchell (Betty Lynn), Merilyn Parker (Larry), Deborah Lankford (Sam), Annette Harper (Tim), and Jeff Mitchell (Lisa) along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, you may make any donation to a charity of your choice.

 The family takes this opportunity to thank all the staff at Friends Homes as well as AuthoraCare Collective (Hospice) for their dedicated hours and work efforts to making Leroy feel at home.  He loved all who cared for him.
