Lillian "Virginia" (Wilkinson) Cockrell

Mrs. Lillian “Virginia” Wilkinson Cockrell, 86, went Home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 8, 2025.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Stony Point Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Ferrel Hussey officiating.

Mrs. Cockrell was preceded in death by her parents, James and Sue Wilkinson; and her siblings, Louise Rakes, Gladys Daniels, Marie Wagner, Alton Wilkinson, Leon Wilkinson, and Becky Joyce.

Virginia was loved by all who knew her, and was an all-around Christian.  She loved visiting both the beach and the mountains, and she enjoyed her Bible studies and all of her church activities as Pinecroft Baptist Church where she was a member for 50 years.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Bill Cockrell; son, Curt Cockrell; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends whom she loved.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm at George Brothers Funeral Service.
