Linda Jean Ellis, 78, of Greensboro died Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at Atrium Health-High Point Medical Center.
A Celebration of Life service will be 1:00 PM Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Harvest Hills Church of God, 3110 Maple Avenue, Burlington, NC.
Linda was born in Logan County, West Virginia on March 15, 1946. She was a graduate of Logan High School, Class of 1964 where she met then married Jack, the love of her life in September of 1964. Not long after they moved to California where they lived for forty-two years. Upon retirement they relocated to North Carolina where Linda attended Harvest Hills Church of God in Burlington, NC. Linda was a loving wife and mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary (Morrison) Bumgarner and her mother, Ruby Merritt.
She is survived by her husband of nearly sixty years, Jack D. Ellis; daughters, Kelly Lyons (Bill) and Shannon Pon (Edwin); grandchildren, Jesse Lyons (Samantha), Jacob Lyons, Hannah Duffy (Stuart), Macy Comba (Daniel), Logan Pon, and Sydney Pon; great grandchildren, Bennett Lyons, Calum Lyons, and Everley Jean Comba; along with her brothers Robert Bumgarner (Eileen), Roger Bumgarner (Bonnie), Jim Sabo (Pat), and Toby Sabo and many nieces, nephews.
