Lucille (Strader) Byrley

Mrs. Lucille Strader Byrley, 85, went Home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, April
23, 2023 in her home surrounded by her family.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Glenwood Friends Meeting with
Pastor Robert Kidd officiating. Burial will follow at Gilmore Memorial Park.
Mrs. Byrley was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Guydenia Strader.
Lucille was a devoted wife, mother and grammie, and was a faithful member and supporter of Glenwood
Friends Meeting for almost 70 years. She grew up on a farm and learned the meaning of hard work, an
attribute that she would carry with her into everything she did. She earned an associate degree from
Kings College and held a supervisory position at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company for 35 years before
retiring. She loved attending gospel music concerts, spending time at the beach collecting shells, crafting
with her daughter, decorating, working in her garden, and growing flowers which she sold to florists and
at the farmer’s market. Most of all she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ of whom she gave her
heart as a child.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, David Byrley; daughter, Norma Ross and her husband Travis;
granddaughter, Courtney; brother, Harold Strader and wife Mildred; and a host of other family members
and friends whom she loved.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:00-1:45 pm at the church prior to the service.
