Macy (Duncan) Locklear

Macy Duncan Locklear, 90, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 7, 1934, Macy lived a life defined by faith, generosity, and devotion to those she loved.

A graduate of McClung’s Business School with a degree in business, Macy dedicated 27 years of her career as a bookkeeper with Moore Music, followed by 10 years with Pete Wall Plumbing, and ended her career working part-time at Al-Cin. Her dedication and work ethic left a lasting impression on colleagues and friends alike.

Beyond her professional life, Macy’s heart for service was evident in her many acts of kindness. She was an active member of the Pinecroft Sedgefield Fire Department Auxiliary and faithfully served as treasurer at her church for over 20 years. Macy’s greatest joy, however, was caring for her family, creating a warm and welcoming home where love and laughter were abundant.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Julus Locklear; daughters Diana Locklear and Denna Lambke (Jay); grandchildren Shea Heiman (Greg) and Hunter Murray, great-grandchild Atlas Heiman. Macy is also survived by her siblings Roy Duncan (Jean) and Ruth Davis (Ralph). She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held at George Brothers Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 12, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will take place Wednesday, August 13, at 11:00 a.m. at Burnett’s Chapel Church, with interment to follow.

Macy’s life was a beautiful example of love in action—steady, generous, and full of grace. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.
