Margie Coleman Collier, 85, of Greensboro, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, and was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, November 24 at Unity Christian Church with Pastor Les Croft officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
Margie was born in Pikeville, Kentucky, on January 14, 1940, to the late George and Garnet Coleman. She grew up in Grundy, Virginia, where she attended Mountain Mission School, an experience that shaped her lifelong love for children and her belief in caring for others with compassion and grace. She was a dedicated member of Unity Christian Church, formerly Greensboro Christian Church, and she retired from the Guilford County School System after many years of service.
Margie had a gift for making people feel accepted just as they were. She welcomed everyone with open arms, whether it was one of her students needing a warm smile, a friend seeking comfort, or a stranger who simply needed kindness. She especially cherished children, not only her own but every child who crossed her path, and she touched countless lives through her work and her unwavering generosity.
Along with her parents, Margie is preceded in death by her beloved husband of more than 60 years, Richard Carl Collier; her son, Richard Charles Collier; and her siblings Willie Kenneth Coleman, Roger Lee Coleman, and Claris Lester.
She is survived by her daughters Tami Collier-Bullis, Patty Dee Cramer (Carey), and Lauretta Collier; her grandchildren Hailey Bullis and Nicholas Bullis; and her dearly loved great-grandchildren, who brought her so much joy.
Margie leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and quiet service, one that will continue to shine through the lives of all who were blessed to know her. May we honor her memory by loving others with the same grace she so freely gave.
Memorial contributions may be made to Unity Christian Church, 3232 Yanceyville Street, Greensboro, NC 27405.
