Mazie Coleman Childress

Mrs. Mazie Coleman Childress, age 94, passed away Friday January 7, 2022 at Ashton Place in McLeansville.

A funeral service will be held 11:00am Tuesday at George Brothers Funeral Service.  Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time. Due to Covid-19, the service will be livestream at www.georgebrothersfuneral.com.

Mrs. Childress was born in Guilford County to the late David and Julia Burgess Coleman.  She retired from Moses Cone Hospital after many years of service.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Childress; sister Hazel Apple; brother David Coleman “Junior”.

She is survived by her children Judy Prentice, Bonnie Welborn, Curtis Childress, and David Childress.  She is also survived by her six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the charity of one’s choice.
