Michael L. Horne

Michael L. Horne, 68, native of Greensboro went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 following a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease for the past several years.

Memorial service will be 3:00 PM Friday, May 21, 2021 at Grace Independent Baptist Church at 4616 Liberty Grove Road in Liberty.

Michael was a member of Grace Independent Baptist Church. He was a master electrician by trade. He always enjoyed helping others in both his work and his life. He enjoyed fishing and being with his family and church family. He will be remembered as a great father that was immensely proud of his children and their accomplishments. While they were growing up, Michael loved taking them fishing and camping, teaching them sports, and spending long hours at the park. Michael also had an interest in horticulture, and he loved being outside enjoying God’s many gifts and nature. He was a special man and will be missed by everyone that knew him.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Mary Louise Horne; wife, Janice Evon Horne; grandson, Michael A. Horne, Jr.; and brother, Ricky Wayne Horne.

He is survived by son, Michael A. Horne (Mylesha) of Climax; daughter, Brandy M. Etchison (Scott) of Liberty; sister, Lisa Lynn Willliams of High Point; brother, Steven Curtis Horne of Thomasville; and grandson, Noah T. Horne.

The family will receive friends and family from 2-3 PM Friday at the church prior to the service.
