Pastor Milton Farmer, 78, of Julian, died Saturday, August 15, 2020.
A private funeral will be Tuesday morning at George Brothers Funeral Service. A public graveside service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at Gilmore Memorial Park in Julian.
Milton was born in Snow Camp on September 19, 1941 and graduated from Alamance School. He earned his Degree in Theology from the Greensboro Bible Institute. Pastor Farmer was a faithful servant of the Lord for almost fifty years and pastored Gateway Baptist Church in McLeansville, NC for the past thirty-three years. During these years, he mentored many preachers and left a great legacy behind. Milton also taught auto mechanics at Randleman High School for seven years where he had a passion for reaching students. And he was a mechanic who managed Carter’s Exxon near Guilford College for thirty-seven years.
Milton is preceded in death by his parents, Riley and Elizabeth Farmer along with his son, David Farmer.
Milton is survived by his wife, Shirley Farmer; son, Terry Farmer and wife, Lisa; granddaughter, Rachel Gregg and husband, Nathan; four great grandchildren, Adelina, Dawson, Arabella, and Grayson; and brothers, George Farmer and wife, Judy and Bill Farmer and wife, Mary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gateway Baptist Church, 125 Debanne Road, McLeansville, NC 27301.
Pastor was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Everyone that knew him loved him. He will be greatly missed but is safe and healthy in his Heavenly home with his dear Savior Jesus…….God is good.
