Mr. Barry Mitchell Stoneman “Mitch”, age 69 of Greensboro, NC passed away on Wednesday March 17, 2021 at Hospice of the Piedmont.
Mitch was a graduate of Northeast Guilford High School, class of 1969. He served in the United States Army during the years of 1970 to 1972. Mitch worked 45 years in the filled of heating and air conditioning (HVAC). His career started with Jackson Heating and Air in 1969 to the year of 1993, Central Carolina Heating and Air from the years of 1993 to 1997, and Envirotrol from the years of 1997 to 2017. He retired from Envirotrol on March 20, 2017 after 20 years of dedicated service.
In his spare time, Mitch enjoyed the great outdoors. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, gardening, and manicuring his lawn.
Mitch will always be remembered as a dependable, caring, humble man that always was willing to help others. He was a loving father, grandfather, son, and brother as well as a wonderful friend to all that knew him.
Mitch was preceded in death by his father Barnie M. Stoneman, mother Sallie C. Stoneman, and oldest brother Eric M. Stoneman.
He is survived by his daughter Dawn Stoneman (Rhonda); three grandchildren Barry Long (Kasey), Austin Long, and Makayla Long; one sister Robin Cansler ( Terry). Also surviving are several cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of other loving friends.
The family will receive friends Thursday, March 18, 2021, at George Brothers Funeral Service from 6:00pm-8:00pm.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30am Friday, March 19, 2021, at Community Baptist Church, 1330 Burnetts Chapel Rd. Greensboro, NC 27406. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of The Piedmont 1803 Westchester Dr. High Point, NC 27262.
The family would like to express gratitude to his physicians at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, as well as his primary care physicians at Premier Center, and lastly the hospice team members that served him during his final weeks.
