Mr. Billy David Taylor

Mr. Billy David Taylor, age 76, went home to his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, surrounded by his loving family at Moses Cone Hospital.

A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00pm Sunday, January 18, 2026, in the Family Life Center of Community Baptist Church. A committal service will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends following the service. Bill will lie in state in the family life center from 2:00pm-2:50pm. The funeral service will be live streamed at www. communitybaptistchurch.online.

Bill was born in Rockingham County to the late David and Pernie Lawson Taylor.

A servant of Jesus Christ and a provider for his family, Bill was a man of faith, many trades, talents, and was a good teacher.  He was self-employed for forty-two years, as a general contractor, owner and operator of Taylor Building Systems, since 1983.  He was a faithful member of Community Baptist Church where he showed the love of Christ while serving as a deacon, cooking for the yearly barbecue, or any other way.  Bill enjoyed many hobbies including camping, coastal fishing trips, old/fast cars, and his Christmas lights just to mention a few.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, of fifty-two years, Gail Jones Taylor; children Gina Stone, Tina Taylor, and William Taylor and his wife Jeana; sister Emma Wilmoth; grandchildren Chris Stone, Joe Stone, Emily Stone, Mason Taylor, and Nolan Taylor.
