Mr. David Lee Moorefield

Mr. David Lee Moorefield, age 78, moved to his Heavenly home, Sunday June 7, 2026, at Heritage Greens surrounded by his loving family.

A memorial service, to celebrate the life of David, will be held 2:00pm Thursday June 11, 2026, at Pleasant Garden Baptist Church.  The family will receive friends from 1:00pm - 2:00pm at the church.

A native of Guilford County, Mr. Moorefield was born to the late James and Melba Edwards Moorefield, Sr.  He was a faithful member of Pleasant Garden Baptist Church where he served his Lord and community through the Baptist Men Association. Having a servant’s heart, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force while serving in the Vietnam War and retired from the City of Greensboro with fifty years of service.  David enjoyed many interests, including watching hockey, NASCAR, and golf. He enjoyed spending time with his family on the beach while looking for sharks’ teeth.

In addition to David’s parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Martha Fields and brother James Lacy “Jimmy” Moorefield, Jr.

David is survived by his devoted and loving wife, of fifty years, Sally Moorefield; children Josh Moorefield and his wife Holly, and Kris Fox and her husband Adam.  He was adored by his three grandchildren Tanner, Blair, and Keaton.  Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to his brothers-in-law JT Clarida and Bubba Fields for the love, care, and encouragement given to David during his time of sickness.
