Freddie Lee Shore, 76, of Greensboro entered the presence of the Lord on Thursday, June 23, 2022. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, retired police officer and friend. A 2 p.m. funeral service will be held on Monday, June 27, 2022, at Pleasant Garden Baptist Church with Pastor Robert Hefner officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 26, 2022, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. at George Brothers Funeral Service, 803 Greenhaven Drive, Greensboro, NC 27406. Freddie was born in Guilford County on January 25, 1946, to the late Hester Lee Shore. He has been preceded in death by his grand-daughter, Jessica Perdue; sisters, Marian Wheeler (Greensboro) and Shirley Evans (Reidsville). He joined the Army in 1963 and proudly served his country. One of the highlights of his career was to travel the world and see other countries. He was honorably discharged in 1966. He returned to Greensboro spent some years at Carolina Steel. Yet, his true calling was to serve and protect his community. He spent over two decades with the Greensboro Police Department and retired due to health concerns. Freddie contained a thirst for knowledge. He enjoyed learning. In his lifetime, he received a degree in Political Science, a degree in Administrative Science from Guilford College in Greensboro. He received a Gemology Degree from the Gemology Institute of America with various certifications. He was currently working in Spanish studies prior to his illness. He was a member of the American Legion and NC Retired Government Employees Association. He, too, enjoyed fellowship with friends, spending time with his family, and playing the guitar. He was a member of Pleasant Garden Baptist Church where he enjoyed attending Sunday school and worshiping our Lord. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, of 57 years, Linda Shore of the home; his son, Mark Shore (Martina) of Swansboro; his daughter, Sherri Perdue (Ronnie) of Pleasant Garden; his grandchildren, Jordan Chilton (Caleb) of Greensboro, Chandler Shore (Ariane) of Swansboro, Morgan Shore (Juan) of Sommerville, NJ, Jayson Perdue of Pleasant Garden; his great-grandchildren, Wyatt Chilton of Greensboro; Marisol Mendoza of Sommerville, NJ; Holden Chilton of Greensboro
