Mr. Furman Alton Strickland

Mr. Furman Alton Strickland, 87, of Greensboro passed away June 20, 2021 at his home with family.

 Alton was born October 10, 1933in Sampson County, NC son of the late William and Eva Strickland.  He had been a resident of Greensboro the majority of his life and was a retired employee of EPES Trucking in Greensboro.  He was of the Baptist faith.  On June 10, 1961, he married the late Arbedella Lee Strickland who passed away November 13, 2008. 

 He was preceded in death by his parents William and Eva; wife Arbedella; sisters Alpha Naomi Strickland and Linda Mae Strickland; brothers Milton Ray Strickland, Wilbert Austin Strickland, and Donnie Wayne Strickland.

 Surviving are his two sons John Wayne Strickland and wife Kimberly, and David Alan Strickland and wife Brenda; two daughters Shirley Ann Brown and Kathy Collins and husband Allen.  Also surviving are nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

 A funeral service will be 2:00pm Friday at George Brothers Funeral Service.  Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm-2:00pm Friday at George Brothers Funeral Service.
