Mr. Gary Wayne Lewis

Mr. Gary Wayne Lewis, age 71, passed away Tuesday July 20, 2021 at Moses Cone Hospital.

A funeral service will be 11:00am Wednesday at George Brothers Funeral Service with Rev. Richard Nunn, Rev. Bill Young, and Rev. Steve Walsh officiating the service.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time.

Mr. Lewis was a faithful member of Good Shepherd Church of Greensboro and retried from Bimco Plumbing Supply Company. He coached little league football for over 40 years in the Pleasant Garden and Southeast communities. The last team he coach was with the Southeast Falcons.

He was preceded in death by his parents Irvin and Frances Phillips Lewis and an infant great-granddaughter.

Gary is survived by his loving wife of 47 ½ years Joan Lewis of Pleasant Garden; children Christopher Lewis (Wendy), Shawn Lewis (Tabitha), Candy Stogner (Howard), and Phillip Lewis (Debbie); sister Kathy Lewis.  Also surviving are eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
