Mr. Jason Van Williams, age 90, passed away Sunday July 21, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday at George Brothers Funeral Service with Rev. Chris Vance officiating the service. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Williams was born, in Columbus County, to the late Jason and Hattie Pierce Williams, Sr. He was a member of Monnett Road Baptist Church, a retiree of AT&T with thirty-six years of service, served his country in the United States Army, and was known as the “Best Gardner” in Climax.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters.
Mr. Williams is survived by his wife of sixty-six years Peggy Williams; sons Tim Williams, Wayne Williams (Brenda), Jeff Williams (Joyce), and Brian Williams; brothers Charles Williams. Also surviving are six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren.
