Mr. John "Mickey" Simmons, II

John “Mickey” Simmons, II age 58, was born in Greenville, SC on October 27, 1962. He passed away Thursday September 23, 2021 at his home in Eden, NC following several years of declining health.

His son, Derek Simmons, who was his pride and joy, survives him.  Also, his ex-wife, Gail Simmons, that he was married to for 38 years and they remained very close friends.  He is survived by his father, John Simmons, Sr. of Greenville, SC; Surviving sisters, Debbie (Phil) Edwards of Florence, SC; Karen (Greg) Blevins of Gray Court, SC; Nephews BJ and Sam and niece April.  His Mother, Barbara Massey Simmons and brother, Michael Simmons, preceded him in death.

Mickey had the biggest heart and always wanted to help others.  He loved dogs, listening to music, and watching old television shows.  His biggest passion in life was restoring old Chevy trucks and riding Harley Davidson motorcycles.  He was always a very hard worker and provided well for his family. Mickey will be missed by his family and many friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held, Saturday October 2nd at 3:00pm.  Family will receive friends from 2:00pm until the service hour at Community Baptist Church, 1330 Burnett’s Chapel Road Greensboro, NC  27406.  Pastor JR Gossett will be officiating the service.
