Mr. Johnny Robert Jones, Sr.

Mr. Johnny Robert Jones, Sr., age 84, of Asheboro went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday November 23, 2018 at Moses Cone Hospital.

A funeral service will be 2:00 pm Tuesday at Bailey’s Grove Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park officiated by Rev. Jon Shook.  The family will receive friends from 1:00pm - 2:00pm at the church.

Known as Uncle Bob to his family, Johnny was born in Dadeville, Alabama on October 7, 1934 to the late Oliver and Effie Rhodes Jones.  He served his country in the United States Army while serving in the Korean War (7 Reconicense).  He was employed with Carolina Freight in Greensboro, and in 1967 he founded J.J. & Sons Pressure Washing Company in Asheboro, and was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan.  He served the Lord in the bus ministry, and a deacon at New Testament Baptist Church, and became a faithful member of Bailey’s Grove Baptist Church.

Johnny enjoyed life, family, loved his Lord, and loved people.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Margaret Knowles, and son Murray “Bruiser” Franklin Jones.

Johnny is survived by his wife of 64 years Pauline Jones of Asheboro; children Robbie Jones (Kay), Theresa Smith, Travis Jones (Diane), Edreen Peak (Tony) and Wendy Seawell (Brett); sister Annie Knox.  Also surviving are fifteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
