Mr. Richard W. "Rob" Robertson

Mr. Richard W. “Rob” Robertson, age 80, went Home to his Heavenly Father on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

A funeral service will be conducted 12:00 noon Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Grace Baptist Church with Rev. J.R. Gossett officiating the service.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Randolph County Honor Guard providing military honors.  The family will receive friends in the church sanctuary beginning at 11:00am.

Rob was born to the late James and Dorothy Rounds Robertson in Compton, California. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from North Carolina A&T State University and furthered his education from California State University, with a Master’s degree in quality assurance. Having a heart of servanthood, he was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church, for over forty years, where he served as a chairman of the deacon board, deacon, and with the security team.  As an ordained minister, he showed the love of Christ as an interim pastor and guest speaker for nursing homes and churches. He was a combat (airborne) veteran of the United States Army while serving in the Vietnam War. He was a mechanical engineer (PE) by profession and retired from Southern Rubber Company.

Rob is survived by his loving wife, of fifty-six years, Shirley Robertson, son Brandon Robertson and his wife Amanda, grandson Ty Robertson, brother Michael Robertson, favorite brother-in-law Billy (WO) Berkeley, and many loving family members.

In honor of Rob’s faithfulness to his church, memorial contribution may be given to Grace Baptist Church, 2008 Fairfax Rd. Greensboro, NC 27407.
