Mr. Robert Greer Gilbreath, age 88, passed away Tuesday February 4, 2020 at his residence.
A funeral service will be this Saturday at Rehobeth United Methodist Church at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the Family Life Center of Rehobeth United Methodist Church.
Mr. Gilbreath was born in Guilford county to the late Charlie and Epsie Ryan Gilbreath. He retired, with 45 years of service, from Covington Diesel, and was a member of Rehobeth United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Jean Campbell Gilbreath, son Timothy Gilbreath, two infant daughters, and sister Alsie Curtis.
He is survived by his children David Gilbreath of Pleasant Garden, and Amy Riddle (Henry) of Pleasant Garden; sisters Hilda Bason of Greensboro, and Betty Sue Neese of Jamestown; brothers Charlie Gilbreath (Mary) of Greensboro, and Kelly Gilbreath (Shirley) of Greensboro. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Johnathon David Gilbreath, Rebecca Marie Beach (John), Megan Renee Simmons (Josh), Owen Joseph Riddle, Seth Robert Riddle, Brittany Daniele Salers, Mitchell Brody Salers, and Amber Lynn Gilbreath; great granddaughters, McKenzie Marie Beach and Lalin Gayle; great-grandson Everett Greer Simmons.
