Mr. Walter Thomas Matthews

Mr. Walter Thomas Matthews, 90, went home to be with his heavenly Father on Thursday August 23, 2018 at Clapp’s Nursing Home in Pleasant Garden.

A funeral service will be 11:00 am Monday at Level Cross Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.

Mr. Matthews was a faithful and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.  He was an active member of Level Cross Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Fay Mathews.

Walter is survived by his daughter Joyce Muns (Johnny) of Georgia, Son Scott Matthews (Donna) of Florida, son Phillip Matthews of Greensboro; nine grandchildren; eight great- grandchildren; sister Elsie Futtrell and brother Howard Matthews; as well as a host of family and friends whom he loved.

The family will receive friends from 3:00pm-5:00pm Sunday at George Brothers Funeral Service.
