Mrs. Bobbie Barker Boone

Bobbie Barker Boone was born January 10, 1935, in Pleasant Garden, NC to Luther M. and Jennie (Pulliam) Barker. Bobbie accepted Christ at the age of 13 and serving Him was the most important thing in her life.

She graduated from Pleasant Garden High School, married, and moved to Sumter, SC, before returning to NC, where she raised her family in Climax.

She taught beauty school, worked in the banking industry for 26 years, and later worked for Phoenix Insurance as Office Manager for 10 years prior to her retirement. After retiring, she volunteered at Cone Hospital. Bobbie devoted her life to Christ and her family. She taught Sunday School for many years, and each morning she could be found at the kitchen table with her Bible open and a notepad, taking notes during her daily Bible study.

She was a devoted friend and encourager, known for sending cards to everyone. Bobbie also served as Chaplin of Pleasant Garden Lions Club and was a faithful prayer warrior.

Bobbie's greatest accomplishment was her family. She loved her family with all her heart, and nothing brought her more joy than to spend time together. She was a great cook, and Sunday meals were always the best fellowship of the week. Bobbie dearly loved her husband, who faithfully cared for her each day until the end.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Dennis Raye Breedlove; her daughter, Denise Annette Breedlove; and her sisters, Lillian Barker Smith and Nettie Jane Barker; grandchild Emilee Breedlove.

She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Brook T. (B.T.) Boone; Children; Danny J. Breedlove (Susan), Damian Boone (Maylee) son by adoption, and Jacquelyn Boone. Her sister, Shirley Barker Coble; and her grandchildren; Dustin Breedlove, Denise Breedlove, Mark Breedlove (Andrea), Erin Hohn (Christian), Julia Breedlove, Lauren Mullett (Stephen), and William Duncan; great grandchildren Aaden Galarza, Asher Breedlove, Gideon Breedlove, Lennon Hohn, Lundy Hohn, Landon Mullett, Lucy Mullett, Cayleigh Duncan, Ellie Duncan, and Mattis Duncan.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Heritage Green and Hospice/AuthoraCare for the excellent and compassionate care they provided Bobbie.

A funeral service will be conducted 2:00pm Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Pleasant Garden Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Michael Barrett and Rev. Roger Bailey.  Burial will follow at Gilmore Memorial Park in Julian. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm -2:00pm Thursday at Pleasant Grden Baptist Church.
