Mrs. Doris Tucker Surratt

Mrs. Doris Tucker Surratt was born on March 12, 1943, to the late Ira ("Mack") and Leola Tucker and passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, November 12, 2023. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Larry M. Tucker, Ronny G. Tucker, and Donny L. Tucker. 

She is survived by her faithful and loving husband of sixty years, Charles Surratt; her two daughters, Gina Surratt and Tara Moody; her brother, George M. Tucker (Kathy); and her beloved grandchildren, Jared Moody (Courtny), Taylor Moody (Tyler Gravley, fiancé), and Blake Moody. 

Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy. She enjoyed spending time with them and all of her family. She also enjoyed gardening and traveling. Some of her journeys included those with the seniors at Gospel Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member for years. She retired from Overhead Door Company of Greensboro after many years of dedicated service. 

Above all, Doris loved the Lord. She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion for others and will be deeply missed by her loved ones.   

A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, November 17, 2023, at Gospel Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Luttrell officiating the service. The family will receive friends following the service. A private committal service will be held at Gilmore Memorial Park in Julian, NC. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gospel Baptist Church, 5945 N. Church Street, Greensboro, NC 27455.
