Mrs. Emma McVay Shaw

Mrs. Emma McVay Shaw, age 88, passed away Thursday September 9, 2021, at her residence.

A memorial gathering will be 2:00pm-4:00pm Saturday, September 18, at George Brothers Funeral Service.

The youngest of nine children, she was born in Covington County Alabama to the late Wesley and Clara Wright McVay. She was a former member of The Eastern Star, and in 1972 was a co-founder of Shaw Accounting Services and retired in 2010.  She also loved to travel. 

In addition to her parents and eight siblings, she was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-two years Sam Shaw, the love of her life.

 She is survived by her children Wesley Shaw (Jane) of Texas, Robert Shaw of Greensboro, and Leslie Moye of Greensboro.  Also surviving are seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
