Mrs. Kathy Smith Marley

Mrs. Kathy Smith Marley “Me’Me”, age 69, went home to her Heavenly Father on Monday November 4, 2024, at her residence.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Sunday in the Old Chapel of Community Baptist Church with Pastor Chris Davis and Pastor J.R. Gossett officiating the service. A private family committal service will be held at Guilford Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 1:00pm -2:00pm in the Family Life Center of Community Baptist Church. 

Mrs. Marley was born, in Guilford County, to the late Jack and Betty Freeze Smith.  She was a graduate of Ragsdale Senior High School and furthered her education at Guilford Technical Community College.  She retired from Convatec after eighteen years of service and served the Lord in the Community Baptist Church Choir of which she was a member of.

Kathy was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  She enjoyed watching birds in the yard, listening to gospel music, an avid Atlanta Braves fan and Isaac’s biggest baseball fan.  Most of all, she was a friend to all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Lydia Smith.

Kathy is survived by her loving husband of forty-six years James Marley, Sr.; son James Marley, Jr. and wife Lesley; daughter Amie Marley; grandchildren Kevin and Isaac Marley; sisters Susan Cooper and Lisa Lewis; brother Mike Case, Sr.; beloved dogs Molly and Buddy.

The family would like to thank Pinecroft - Sedgefield Fire Department for the professional support given to Kathy.
