Mrs. Lina Martin Cockman

Early Tuesday morning, September 7, 2021 our precious mom was ushered into the arms of Jesus and reunited with her loving husband of 60 years, Bennie Rogers Cockman Sr. who preceded her in death in 2009. She was also preceded by her parents, Earl Cornelius and Lina Morgan Martin, grandson Benjamin Smith, brother RD Martin and sister Hazel York.

Visitation will be Friday September 10, 2021 from 6 to 8 at George Brothers Funeral Home. Graveside service will be on Saturday September 11, 2021, at 11:00 at Green Hill Cemetery conducted by Rev. Tom Bowling.

Lina was a member of Andrews Memorial Baptist Church in Brown Summit. She loved to cook and travel especially to the Outer Banks. She loved all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and looked forward to family gatherings. Her favorite thing to do was to take Sunday rides with the love of her life, Bennie.

Lina is survived by her children, Rita Pearson (Dillard); Teresa Roberts (Jerry); Deborah Smith (Benny); Sue Ray (David); Roger Cockman (Sandy); Pat Andrews (Johnny); and Kenneth Cockman (Angie). Her grandchildren, Anthony Belton (Carolyn); Lee Belton (Danielle); Scott Roberts (Sarah); Chris Roberts (Mindy); Crystal Ward; Heather Lamascus (Shawn); Tracy Ray (Grier); Will Ray; Christy Smith (Josh); Amanda Andrews; Anna Ball (Lee); Abby Andrews; Ashley Cockman; Laura Apple (Brandon); and Kasey Cockman (Heather). Her great-grandchildren, Andrew, Sidney, Sadie, Micah, Raegan, Trace, Alaena, Alyssa, Alivia, Isaac, Jackson, Austin, Zac, Logan, Toby, Nolan, Eversley, Brendon, and Easton.
