Mrs. Patricia Hornaday Phillips

Mrs. Patricia Hornaday Phillips, age 85, of Greensboro, NC, passed away Thursday December 12, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, December 21, at George Brothers Funeral Service with Rev. Chris Vance officiating the service. The family will receive friends following the service at the residence of her son Gene Phillips and wife Sandy.

Mrs. Phillips was born on August 9, 1939, in Lumberton, NC to the late Ruth Pearl and Arley Brooke Hornaday.  While being raised in Charlotte, NC, she always spoke of her happiest times with her siblings.  She was a homemaker who loved working in her home and decorating for all the holidays.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in law, and aunt. She was devoted to her children and fiercely protected over them.  Her kids never doubted how much she loved them and how much they loved her.  She was one of six children, and she loved her siblings and loved spending time with them even into adulthood.  She always felt like a second mother to them.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings.

She is survived by her loving husband, of sixty-one years, Manuel Phillips; daughter Joyce Williams and husband Jeff; son Gene and daughter-in-law Sandy; daughter Linda Cooper; nephew/son Tim Phillips and wife Susan.  Also surviving are six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and one great grandchild on the way. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
