Mrs. Pearline Mowery Hicks

Mrs. Pearline Mowery Hicks, age 85, passed away Thursday September 16, 2021, at Carolina Pines in Greensboro.

A graveside memorial service will be 2:00pm Wednesday, September 29, at Gilmore  Memorial Park.

Pearline was the oldest of eight children, who was born to the late Fred and Della Paul Mowery.  She loved crocheting blankets to give to her family as a token of her love for them.  She always enjoyed spending time with her family at the lake or just have a nice dinner with everyone and mowing the lawn on her John Deer mower.  She also loved spending time at the Smith Recreation Center with her friends and pampering her dog “Penny”.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Johnny Hicks and four sisters.

Pearline is survived by her daughters Sandra Gordon (Bob), and Bobbie Sharpe (Basil); grandchildren Ronnie Coble (Tammy), Katina Clayton (Earl), Eric Gordon (Shannon), Jonathon Gordon (Holly), Ashley Isley (Ryan), Daniel Perdue (Hannah), Geneva May (Will), Jerrell Sharpe (Brittany) and Todd Brandyberry; great-grandchildren Austin Coble, Logan Coble, Dekota Coble, Kadence May, Tucker May, Levi May, Harlan May, Gracie Gordon, Peyson Gordon, Tyson Gordon, Eliza Gordon, Ridge Gordon, Evan Sharpe, Alaina Sharpe, Lily Sharpe, and Riley Sharpe, Pea Wray, Zoey Wray, and Amaya Wray; great-great grandchildren Carson Coble and Ansleigh Coble.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the donor’s choice.
