Mrs. Rachel Ellene Maske

                On November 28, 2024, Rachel Ellene Maske, 91 of Summerfield, NC passed away peacefully at her home.  She was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Kirk Barnes and her husband Jesse Nolan Maske.  She was the last of seven children of the late Hubert and Katie Lewis.  She is survived by her son BJ Barnes, wife Dena Barnes, granddaughter Stephanie Barnes, Step-grand-daughter Chris Hutchison and husband Robb.  She loved each along with her six great grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

                For many years she raised her two sons as a single mother.  Providing a nurturing home and a safe and loving environment.  She worked two jobs in the retail industry until she remarried, then worked just one job until her retirement, but never did she shirk or begrudge her responsibilities.

                Ellene had an affinity for the deer and hummingbirds in her backyard, treating them as pets and revering them as God’s creatures.

                She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.  A celebration of life will be held later for family and friends.  She would not want tears, she was confident she will have a place with God, family and friends who went before.
