Mrs. Sally White Whitaker, 89 years young, passed peacefully surrounded with family by her side on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at her home.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, June 2, at 2:00 PM at George Brothers Funeral Service with Rev. Jerry Strader officiating the service. Mrs. Whitaker will be laid to rest at Lakeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
Sally also lovingly called Mama, Nana, and Grand Nannie, was well loved and she cherished and spoiled all her children and grands. She loved the Lord; she was a wonderful seamstress and an awesome cook. She was known for her famous fried apple pies and yummy macaroni and cheese. She was generous, never hesitating to share her time, her home but most of all of her love.
Sally was preceded in death by her loving husband, Allen Whitaker of seventy years; parents Ramie White and Sallie White Thompson; stepfather Clark Thompson; brothers Grady and Lester White; sisters Jenny Fulp, Vernice Cooper, Mary Ruth Mobley, Clediouth McIntosh, and Barbara Pait.
Sally is survived by her children Carolyn Rowlen and husband Bob, Wayne Whitaker and wife Cathey, Kenny Whitaker and wife Nancy, and Penny Gaulden and husband Wesley; grandchildren Kimberly Rowlen, Jennifer Paschal (Bo), Brandon Rowlen, Drew Whitaker (Amanda),Tracey Duncan (Matt), Jesse Whitaker (Kristy), Korey Wrenn (Joseph), and Shelby Gaulden; precious great-grand’s Trever White, Cody White, Hailey Paschal, Hunter Paschal, Eva Whitaker, Kellan Duncan, Amelia Duncan, and Harlyn Whitaker.

The family would like to thank the staff at AuthoraCare of Greensboro for their many kindnesses and love shown to us during the care of our Mother.
