Mrs. Wilma Jean Gamble Fields, 82, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday at Centre Friends Meeting Church Cemetery with Mr. Joe Gamble officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm on Saturday at George Brothers Funeral Service.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James “Jimmy” Fred Fields, Jr.; and her sister, Elizabeth Ann Gamble.
Mrs. Fields was born on April 20, 1940, in Guilford County to the late Floyd and Freda Gamble. She loved being a homemaker, her grandchildren, eating tomato sandwiches, her dog, “Peetie” and her cat, “Skinny”. After completing cosmetology college, she owned and operated Jean's Beauty Shop where she had repeat customers for many decades.
She is survived by her children, Karen Fields Short (Adam), James “Butch” Fields, III (Pam), Lisa Fields Boyles and Randall “Randy” J. Fields (Lisa); nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sister, Audrey Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends whom she loved.
