Ms. Jeannie Lea Blackwood

Jeannie Lea Blackwood, age 73, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday October 30, 2024, at Moses Cone Hospital.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm Sunday at Rehobeth Church Cemetery, with Rev. Tim Hunnicutt and Rev. Ben Shepherd officiating the service.

Ms. Blackwood was born, in Guilford County, to the late Jesse and Fannie Kenan Blackwood. She was a graduate of Sumner High School and was a member of Rehobeth Church (formerly Rehobeth United Methodist Church) where she served as a choir member. Jeannie retired from Syngenta Chemical Company and was an advocate for animals and birds.

She is survived by her brothers David Blackwood (Phyllis) and Danny Blackwood (Judy); nieces Beth Blackwood (Mike) and Amy Blackwood (Matt); nephews Jeff Blackwood (Chanda), Randy Blackwood (Nancy), and Tommy Blackwood; best friend and caregiver Phyllis Davis.   Also surviving are numerous great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.
