Nancy Meola Aldridge

Nancy Aldridge, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Wednesday October 2, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was 80 years old.

Born in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, Nancy spent her summers by the shore, creating joyful memories that she cherished throughout her life. When her family moved to Arizona, she embraced the adventure, attending the University of Arizona and earning her degree in social work. Soon after, she married and made her home in Greensboro, North Carolina, where she dedicated herself to her passion for helping others as a social worker for disabled adults.

Nancy had a zest for life—she loved to dance, paint, and whip up delicious meals in the kitchen. One of her happiest moments was the day she brought her daughter, Jodi, home. Known for her fierce independence, Nancy’s deep faith and nurturing spirit were evident in all she did. She found immense joy in giving back to her community, always reaching out to those in need and uplifting those around her.

Nancy is survived by her daughter, Jodi; her grandchildren, Alec and Shauna; her great-grandchildren, Kyree and Carson; her sister Maralind; her brother Paul; her nieces and nephews. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and service, infused with a sense of fun that touched the hearts of everyone she met. True to her spirit, Nancy lived her life with joy and kindness, always on her own terms.

A memorial service will be held in her honor at 3:00pm on Saturday October 5, 2024, at the Muir’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, where friends and family can gather to celebrate her remarkable life and the countless lives she touched. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Muir’s Chapel United Methodist Church 314 Muirs Chapel Rd. Greensboro, NC 27410, honoring Nancy’s lifelong commitment to helping others.
