Nichol Clark Obituary

Nichol Lavern Clark, 49, of Greensboro passed from this life on Thursday, March 6, 2025.

A homegoing service will be 1:00 PM Monday, March 17, 2025 at Triad Baptist Church in Greensboro with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery also in Greensboro.

The family will receive friends from 12-1:00 pm at the church prior to the service.

She was born in Greensboro, NC, to loving parents Marsha Love Jordan and Alfred (Al) Siler. Soon thereafter, they moved back to Ewing Township, NJ, where Marsha grew up and where many family members still lived.

As a young child, Nichol loved being with her extended family and playing with friends. She was a devout Christian, having been a member of Cadwalader Asbury United Methodist Church where she sang in choirs from a young age through high school. She then attended Macedonia Baptist Church for many years with her mother. Her final church home was Triad Baptist Church where she felt loved and supported.

After graduating from Ewing High School, Nichol attended Bennett College, her mother’s alma mater. When she returned to NJ, she worked for Home Savings Bank and other local entities. In 2001, Nichol was blessed with the birth of her son, Talon. He was truly the love of her life. She was devoted to raising him and keeping him close to family. As toddlers and young children, Talon and his first cousin, Quadir, spent countless weekends together thanks to Nichol’s commitment to keeping the boys connected.

Nichol grew up and became a smart, resourceful and determined young woman. She engaged others with empathy and sought common ground whenever possible. In her personal and professional life, she always came with her heart on her sleeve and went out of her way to do right by people, sometimes at her own expense. Nichol lived every day with God in her heart, and love for her friends, family, community, and those World Champion Philadelphia Eagles. Through example, she demonstrated how to live a life guided by faith and compassion.

Nichol loved her mother very much, took care of her when she fell ill, and saw her through to her passing. Eventually, Nichol and Talon moved to Greensboro, NC to be near her father. Al was happy to have them with him and lavished Talon with love and attention.

In Greensboro, Nichol met and married her loving husband, James Clark. They were very happy together. James was a wonderful husband standing by Nichol and providing support and encouragement whenever she needed it. She was looking forward to a lifetime of love with him.

As a mother and wife, Nichol was fearless and met every challenge with a fiery passion. She was a constant source of support and joy, a trusted confidante, and a fierce protector. Nichol was a companion who always made you feel loved and cherished.

Nichol was predeceased by her mother, Marsha Jordan, her father, Alfred Siler, grandparents, William H. Love, Jr. and Eula Mae Love, and uncle, William H. Love, III (Pudgy).

Left to mourn their loss are her husband, James Clark, son, Talon Smith of Maryland, brother, Sheldon M. Jordan, nephews, Quadir Robinson and Marshawn Jordan, godparents, Brett Carroll, Sr. and Tracy Carroll, all of New Jersey, and a host of cousins in Virginia and New Jersey.
