Pastor Gregory S. Cassady finished his course and went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 23, 2026 at his home. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at True Light Baptist Church at 2:00pm. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.
Greg was born in Moore County, NC to the late Sulon Burpee Cassady and Annie Frances Webb Cassady. He served his country in Vietnam with the United States Marine Corps and worked several different jobs before yielding his life to the call to preach God’s Word. In his spare time, he enjoyed collecting, admiring and cleaning his “fast cars” until they were spotless.
He served as Pastor of True Light Baptist Church and Johnson Baptist for a total of 41 years. He also served on the board at Piedmont Rescue Mission for 20 years and had radio ministries in Reidsville and with WPET in Greensboro. Preacher, as he was known, lived a life of faithful service to his family and his Lord. His legacy of faith will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
Pastor Cassady is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Rose Cassady; children Kevin Cassady (Tracy) and Sherry Whitaker; grandchildren Kayla (Timothy), Cody (Chloe), Paige (Adam), Kelley, and Rebecca; and great grandchildren Gregory and Wrenley.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening at George Brothers Funeral Service from 6:00pm-8:00pm and other times at the home.
