Dr. Paul Eugene Norwalt, 79, of Greensboro went Home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at High Point Hospice Home with his loving wife of over 61 years by his side.
Funeral service will be Friday, October 4th, 2024, at 12:00 noon at Monnett Road Baptist Church with Pastor Chris Vance officiating. Burial will follow at Gilmore Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at George Brothers Funeral Service.
Paul was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Walter Fredrick and Mabel “Jewell” Dickey Norwalt. He graduated from Speedway High School before beginning his career at Ford Motor Company as a Tool and Die Maker. In 1974, God called him to be a Pastor, so he packed up the family and headed to Bible college. He graduated from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri.
In 1981, God called the family to a small New England town in Merrimack, New Hampshire where he started and pastored Merrimack Baptist Temple for 31 years. In 2014, Paul and Claudia moved to North Carolina and attended Monnett Road Baptist Church until he lost his earthly battle to pancreatic cancer and gained his new heavenly body.
Paul wore many hats. That of Husband, Father, Friend, Pastor, Biblical Scholar of Greek and Hebrew, Child of God, and on any given day, a builder, tool and die maker, counselor, teacher, general handyman, landscaper, cook, cleaner, delivery driver, helper to perfect strangers (who on more than one occasion, picked up hitch hikers and gave them everything in his wallet then drove them wherever they needed to go), but more than anything, he was a family man and would give the shirt off his back to help any one of them. He was an amazing man with many talents.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Errol Norwalt.
Mr. Norwalt is survived by his devoted wife, Claudia Barsoda Norwalt; children Theodore Norwalt, Robin Smith, Randy Norwalt, Valerie Sullivan, and Eric Norwalt; 11 grandchildren; siblings Janet Grider and Mark Norwalt; also surviving are many extended family members, church family, and friends who cherished Paul dearly.
George Brothers Funeral Service is honored to assist the family of Mr. Norwalt.
