Peggy Ann True Hicks, 89, died September 25, 2024 at her home. She was born on April 15, 1935 to the late Noah Samuel True and Mary Hardy True.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, September 30, 2024 at George Brothers Funeral Service with Pastor Michael Barrett officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Forrest Hicks; her children, Robert Forrest Hicks, Pennie Hicks Sampson, Steven Samuel Hicks, and Peggy Diane Anderson; her grandson, Craig Hicks; one great-grandchild; two great, great grandchildren; her brothers, Raymond Samuel True, Hubbard Hardy True, Jack Carl True, Sr., Richard Wayne True, and Marvin Eugene True; her sisters, Ila True Ray, Madlean True Jessup, Ruth True McCaskill, Frances True, and an un-named baby sister; and her step-mother, Mary Brady True.
She is survived by her son, William Cleveland Hicks (Therese), of Pleasant Garden, grandchildren, Melinda James Kendrick (David), of Randleman, Melissa “Punkin” James, of Pleasant Garden, Russell Sampson (Darlene), of Whitsett, Ricky Sampson (Amy), of Greensboro, Christine Brown Bourassa (Daniel), of Reidsville, Robert Brown (Brittany), of Reidsville, Michelle Anderson, of Reidsville, Bridget Hicks Norwood, of Randleman, Sabrina Hicks Barnes (Steven), of Greensboro, Angela Nicole Hicks, of Denton, William Roy Hicks, of Greensboro, Danielle Hicks and Brandon Hicks of Erwin; 38 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Nancy True Overman and Brenda True Douglas; sister-in-law, Ann True; and nieces Judy Culbreth; as well as many other nieces and nephews.
She was retired from Cone Mills White Oak. She was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed watching her soaps and spending time with her family.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm at the funeral home prior to the service.
The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Hilts and Ancora of Rockingham County for their wonderful and compassionate care of Peggy with special thanks to Kim and Kathy.
